Caring the diamond dove.

A special care is needed in winter. A cool wind can vanish your all dreams. So, in winter months cover the room where the cage of the diamond dove is placed with plastic sheets. Fortunately, winter period in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh is spread over just 3/4 months.
Good luck all.

How much you could earn by raising diamond dove

As discussed above a pair of diamond dove lays average 1.5 eggs every month. In this way, a pair of diamond dove would give you 18 diamond doves each year and with ten pairs you could have 180 birds in a year, which worth US$ 2160. Is there any business with such a multiple rate of profit. I don't think so.

How much investment is required to keep diamond dove

A wooden cage of 12 portions as discussed above could be purchased in Pakistan/India for just US$ 55. A pair of young diamond dove could be bought for just US$ 12. This means that you could buy ten pairs of diamond dove for just US$120. This may be a great time pass and also a small business, which could be started with a money as low as US$ 200.

Diamond Doves' feed

Their feed is very simple. They eat small seeds. They need a special bowl for their feed which should be deep, because with their pointed beak they waste too much feed. Otherwise, the expenses on their feed is very negligible.

Sexing the diamond dove

Though, demand dove is a bird that breed easily but it is always difficult to identify the male or female. It is harder, until then become adult. The easiest way of sexing a demand dove pair is that the male diamond dove sings and dance while female don't. It expand its tail wings just like a peacock. It starts cooing when he reached the age of 4/5 months. The other identify of male and female dove is that the males rings around their eyes are darker as compared to the female doves. In case all the pairs are placed in a single cage, you will also see that they sit separately as couples.
To start breeding, place each pair in a separate portion of the cages, as jointly the breeding will be very slow. Diamond dove lays one or two eggs in a single clutch and it takes a fortnights' time in incubating the eggs. They care very much of their eggs. If female gets out of the nest for getting feed, the male will start incubating and sometimes they both perform the function of incubating. After the featherless youngs get out of the nest the diamond doves start feeding them and it took another fortnight and after that the parents want their baby out of their portion of cage. After that period they start for another clutch. This means that a pair of diamond dove reproduces one or two diamond doves each month.

Diamond Dove as a Pet Bird

If you are living in a country having warm climate; e.g. Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia etc. and get some free space in your home, such as, your store room, you can earn reasonable income by raising diamond dove as pet birds.
Diamond Dove is a beautiful pet bird. It is excellent to tolerate and resist against warm weather. In can survive in the hottest temperature of even 45 degree Celsius. So, if you are living in India, Pakistan or Bangladesh, Diamond Dove is the best choice for you to raise as pet bird.
To start, what you need is a cage having 6' height, 6' length and 1.5' wide. It should have 12 portions so that you may keep a pair in each portion. Next step is to buy the diamond dove. It is recommended that you may buy a young chick of diamond dove so that you may know the age of your bird. Before going to the market, you should keep in your mind that nobody is so fool to sell his breeder pair in the market. So, it is the best idea to buy a 2/3 months old diamond dove. Even if you got a pair that is already breeding, it will not start breeding immediately when you get it to a new place, as even a breeder pair took a month odd time to adjust and start breeding.
